Half-Priced Entry to Roger Willaims Park Zoo

February 2012.  Roger Willaims Zoo.  Ring in "zoo-thousand and twelve" with half-priced admission and enjoy a winter visit with the animals. A winter visit to the Zoo offers a unique experience and a great way to beat cabin fever.  Cold-hardy animals like red pandas, snow leopards, penguins, bison and others may be more active, while visits to the Tropical America building, featuring exotic primate species, and the Textron Elephant and Giraffe Pavilion offer a break from winter weather.  www.rwpzoo.org.

Calvin's Monster

Saturday - Sunday, February 11 - 12, 2012.  2 - 3:30 pm.  Boston Center for the Arts. Calvins Monster is a World Premiere new musical based on the childrens book Fairy Tale Moments by Marcia Trimble and adapted for the stage by Burgess Clark.  Scared of his shadow, Calvin seeks the aid of famous storybook characters to help him overcome his fears. Written with a modern twist, including Peter Pan and Little Red Riding Hood with cell phones, Calvins Monster entertains while teaching valuable lessons about staying strong and overcoming adversity. A perfect musical for kindergartners through 4th grade.  www.bostonchildrenstheatre.org.

Saturday, February 11, 2012.  1 - 2:30 pm.  South Shore Natural Science Center.  Bring the family and your snowshoes and join us for an adventure through the woods around the Science Center.
We'll look for animal tracks, learn about winter plants, and then come inside for hot chocolate! Snowshoeing abilities of all levels welcome including first-timers! Snowshoes may be available for use.

have fun in the snow. Perhaps we'll discover some tracks or other clues left behind by winter wildlife!
Snow, mud, or rain, come dressed to enjoy and explore the winter weather.
